Meghan Blair Truppner was fortunate enough to be born into horses and grew up in the high performance dressage world. She was heavily involved in the United States Pony Club and achieved her C-3 before deciding to specialize in Dressage. At the age of 9, she was accepted into the Young Rider’s program with the Potomac Valley Dressage Association where she had the pristine eyes of famous trainers such as Col Ben Linquist (CBLM Memorial Championships are still being held every year on the east coast) and Kay Meredith. Meghan’s mother, a Grand Prix rider herself, recognized her daughter’s talent and allowed her the privilege of riding for people like Alexa Schulten-Baumer, Uwe Steiner, as well as a summer internship with Jane Sleeper. The numerous opportunities to learn high performance care with veterinarians and racetracks allowed Meghan to branch off with her own business at the age of 23.

 Branching out at such a young age gave Meghan a great understanding of how privileged she was to have been brought up with such an education. This is where her love of teaching started. She had a burning passion to share her knowledge with everyone and after a few years of running her own barns, she decided to join a riding school where she could focus on children. At that riding school, she had creative freedom and took her musical freestyle knowledge to the next level and put on an entire Christmas play on horseback! Those were some of the best years and many long lasting friendships were forged.

 Meghan has always used her love of learning and natural curiosity to guide her and in 2008 she found herself branching out to have quite a few students in Eventing and Dressage, but it was becoming quite apparent that she was gifted with the ability to ride the horses others couldn’t seem to figure out. She paired up with a small Paint horse, who was defensive about everything and she had a thought. What if she could teach him to be a professor, so he had no need to be defensive anymore, and as the saying goes, the rest is history! She earned her USDF Bronze and Silver Medal with him and when she told him he could retire, he gifted her with her 2 scores towards her Gold Medal and then graciously switched to Working Equitation where they won many Championships at level 3 and then level 5. He officially retired after winning the Can/Am Cup in Canada at Level 5 in 2023.

 Meghan always followed what was in the best interest of her horses and benefited from extensive natural horsemanship, biomechanics and her teaching became more tailored to the Why’s of things with an empowering approach of helping the rider learn the art of body language. After years of riding horses no one else wanted to ride, her back finally gave out and 10 titanium rods/screws later, it altered her life. While she came back into the saddle, she knew she needed a new approach. She found an extraordinary trainer in Wellington Florida who took her under her wing and taught her the art of the Russian In-hand work. That work allowed her to “ride from the ground” with the premise that if you teach a horse without the rider, you can become clearer in communication/expectation and then once the rider is put back in the equation, not only is everyone clearer but the trainer is a participating member. Over the years, she practiced everything she knew and enjoyed a flourishing business with many clients participating in Dressage, Eventing and Working Equitation.  In 2019, she had another surgery and put more hardware in her neck. The decision to downsize her business was made in 2022 and she reestablished herself in Aiken, South Carolina. While that time frame was cut short by a family tragedy, her impact was felt as she started an affiliate organization for USAWE, hosted clinics and even had a 3 part Working Equitation Schooling Show Series.

 She relocated to Las Vegas in 2023 to be close to her daughter and moved to the Seattle area in 2026. She is looking forward to creating a vibrant Working Equitation community here in Snohomish County but also still has clients in the Dressage world and helps horses and humans connect in natural horsemanship although it is often paired with the Russian In-hand work as well.
